The artifact that I chose to reflect goal #6 (Outline the process of inquiry learning in Social Studies) is from a guest lecture we had on July 8th with Kyra Keplin in my EDCI 414 course. In this lecture, Kyra was able to share with our class her experience of teaching using the Inquiry processes. During this lecture, we were able to conduct an inquiry based activity that I feel represents some of the pivotal components of Inquiry and which I wanted to share as the artifact for this goal. Reflection 11: EdCamp
Last week I had the privilege to attend the annual EdCamp event hosted by UVic. Normally this event is held in person, but due to the current situation of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the event was held virtually.
Reflection 7: Inquiry and Project-Based Learning
Our cohort was lucky enough to have a guest lecture on inquiry based learning recently presented by Trevor MacKenzie. After this lecture I found myself thinking of different ways to incorporate inquiry based learning in primary classrooms and the benefits that this could bring to students.
