Another week has flown by and the school semester is full of assignments and check-lists that seem never ending. Last week, I posted about how I was giving myself a break from knitting and allowed myself the time to start planning my spring/summer garden. This week, I am trying to allow myself the time between long zoom classes and long days of working on assignments to connect with friends, take time for myself and prioritize hobbies that provide me with so much.
This time of year I find it is hardest to knit. School becomes much more intense as deadlines approach. My time to knit has been very limited, but when I do make time it feels very selfish. Like a small gift to myself, where I am able to tell myself that I am worth a break and worth having time to myself despite the pressures of schoolwork.
One of these breaks this week was a Zoom call with a few close friends. These lovely ladies bring such joy to my life, and not being able to see them in-person due to covid regulation has been really difficult. While the four of us chatted away, I was able to knit along on my cardigan. That evening felt like a lovely bit of self-care. A time where laughter, a cup of tea, connections with friends and hobbies that I love can be prioritize while also being in control of all my other responsibilities.

It is so great to see people taking time for themselves and being unapologetic about it. It is something I have been working on since COVID. I hope the call with your friends was wonderful and grounding. Remember to take deep breaths, drink lots of water, and stretch!
